She does not guarantee her students to be the “next big thing,” but instead she provides honest, caring and individualized instruction to foster a more confident young actor. One who is not afraid to make bold acting choices and realize who they are as an artist.

Shelah’s lesson plans were extremely detailed and had to satisfy Army educational standards. She did this with very little resources, on her lunch breaks, during nap times, and after a full work day. Shelah would work on her lesson plans, making sure they were thorough, educational and fun for the children. When it came time for the camps to take place, Shelah executed them with uncanny professionalism. She singlehandedly led each camp from start to end. Possibly the most striking thing about Shelah was her interaction and connection to the campers. She most obviously made a positive impact in their lives, by increasing their self-esteem and confidence through drama.
